We also visited the Detroit Motor Show where several chassis were on view. Noticeable tendencies were towards (1) 'Built in' front with built in headlamps, only much less ugly than an original Brewster chassis (2) Very long crosses extending far back and forward. Good examples: Ford and Packard 120. (3) Inclined rubber cushion mountings at *both ends, giving an automatic chassis high up in engine. (4) Very shallow (about 4" or 5") petrol tanks extending back into 'streamline tail' or having more luggage space vertically. (5) Quite a few visible ribs on the drums GRY{Shadwell Grylls} Enclosed short extract from O'G's memo which was sent under 'Don't Destroy' | ||
