Bailey - Chief Engineer} [Handwritten] H3 Radiator Shutters. Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}13/KW29.12.33 I think that this is a matter which we might usefully discuss at our next chassis conference. Radiator shutters certainly seem to have more disadvantages than advantages - in fact the only advantage seems to be the one of appearance and as we, in common with other manufacturers, have educated the public up to expecting a rather bright appearance in front of the radiator, the difficulty will be to maintain this if we do away with shutters. I believe some of the American firms are putting on a sort of chromium-plated grid in order presumably to try to deal with the matter from an appearance point of view. Sg.{Arthur F.
