TO DY.{F R Danby} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL SECRET E1/M30.6.24. Copy to - GJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C. 11. ENGINE CONTROLS. X8240 X8740 We send herewith drawings Nos. LeC. 1886/1887/ and 1889., dealing with the alterations to the controls for the addition of a throttle governor. You will notice that we no longer require the fine adjustment pickup gear on the steering side, but that the lever on the steering column is connected to a control tube concentric with the ignition control shaft, enabling us to run a rod forward between the ignition tower on the crankcase for connecting up to the governor through the agency of the usual spring. Would you kindly get out a spring in Derby to suit the new governor on the lines of the 40/50. We have shewn a double lever with 3 positions for hanging on the spring for the purposes of experiment. A further scheme will follow dealing with the alterations on the carburetter side. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} [STAMP: RECEIVED] | ||
