S/W c. to St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} H6/H1.11.33. Re: Peter Ermen, Esq., 164-MS. Please refer to Inspection Memorandum No. 6288 by St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} of the 28th inst. C. is loath to leave this owner with his grievance as to tire noises on granite setts if there is any way in which we can help him with any suggestion as to tires. We recall the case of the 25 h.p. owner, W.Uttley of Nelson, GSR-67, with whom we had a great deal of difficulty with the same complaint, and it occurs to C. that you may have some suggestion to make arising out of your more recent experience with tires and their treads. C. for example, has in use on his own car at the present time, a new set of tires which he is trying out and for which Dunlop claim more silence, at what cost of adhesion we do not know. He will search for some cobbled roads as opportunity offers, but as these are rare round London and his time is limited, we do not anticipate learning much in this respect from those on his car. Would you let us have your views on the matter. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} [Handwritten note] HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} This appears to be a matter for you to deal with. We should be pleased if you would let us have a copy of your reply for information. H Halse 2/11/33 | ||
