To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Y360 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/KW.4.1.36. 30-EX. Confirming our conversation with you, will you please fit the oilite bushes to Ex.20760 to this car. When the rear springs are being removed for the inspection of the rubber shackles, we should be glad if you would fit Ex.17073/4/5 which were removed from 30-EX, if this can be done without delaying the car. When fitting the Borg & Beck plate previously instructed will you please keep the slack in the clutch splines to the minimum and keep a record of what this is. In view of Gry{Shadwell Grylls}'s remark that in the States they hold the axle backlash down to 1° to reduce chunking, we should be interested to know what the figure is for this car. Furthermore, will you please inspect the pinion taper to make sure this is O.K. We attach a copy of theprint showing the piston grinding recommended by Ex.
