Re Improvement for the Reverse Thrust for the
[underline]Back Axle[/underline]

We have just completed an examination of a chassis which has run about 5,000 to 6,000 miles, with the improved thrust method for the back axle pinion.

Our examination shows that the large ball bearing has worn fairly considerably. When it was fitted we could measure 4 thous. side play between centre and outside races. Our last examination shows that this play amounts to .020" [strikethrough]thous[/strikethrough].

The owner of the car has promised to let us have it again after a similar period. In the meantime we have replaced the parts exactly as they were before.

It is interesting to note that there was no more noise after the 5,000 miles than there was [strikethrough]when[/strikethrough] the new thrust was fitted.
