SECRET To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to De. handwritten: to 658 WRAITH WEIGHTS. We have now obtained preliminary weight comparisons for a number of sections of the "Wraith" car relative to the 25/30. The engine is not yet available, but will not be appreciably lighter than the existing unit. Credit Debit Steering................... 3 - 11½ Frame...................... 5 Brake gear................. 60 - 4 Petrol System.............. 14 - 3 Cooling System............. 8 - 8 Front Suspension........... 47 -10 * Wheel & Tyre Equipment..... 13 -14 Gearbox.................... 12 - 0 Jacks...................... 17 - 0 Rear Axle.................. 7 - 0 The large saving in weight on the brake gear will be noticed. This is why we are anxious for the necessary design work to be done to get the same scheme on Ph.III. and Bentley. The considerable increase on the front suspension indicates that a re-design is desirable. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
