1379 PARIS Sr21/Dn22.4.39 Dear "Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} ", On reading over the C.S.C. Report of Wednesday; 19th April 1939, I note in Paragraph 10, Page 4 re "Paulin Bentley" the following: C mentioned that the Embiricos car with the original Pau,lin bodyhad been exhibited in the Bentley Showroom, where it had been inspected by the majority of those people who had written us as a result of the publication of details of the performances put up by the car in France. Unfortunately the result did not encourage the view that there would be a serious demand for similar cars. The average view appeared to be that the room available in the car was too restricted, and perhaps its appearance too extreme to make it really interesting to our type of customer. It has already been decided to deal with enquiries for similar cars from those sufficiently interested to tolerate the restriction of room &c. The question of exhibiting such a car at the forthcoming Earl's Court Show will be discussed at the next Meeting. ooooo What does all this mean exactly? Are we again putting our brains and all our efforts into something which will never be produced? Sr | ||
