X317 W/S - Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}1/KW.25.6.34. JACKALL JACKS. Thank you for your memo. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}21/KW.19.6.34 re the above. We have only recently been able to start tests on the Jacks fitted to 20-EX as the car has been in use on other work. However, on two occasions we have had the flexible feed pipes leaking and at present are awaiting an improved type from Messrs. Smith. The Jacking System has proved efficient in itself so far, the main drawback being the fitting of the front Jacks to the axle. Owing to their length they protrude through the front apron and look most unsightly. Mr. Eckford of Messrs. Smiths is arranging to visit these Works, when we shall have an opportunity of discussing the matter with him. As soon as we know something a little more definite we will write you again.
