[crossed out] 1020 Re: Bentley Main Bearings - Oil Flow Test. --------------------------- We attach two photographs and a blueprint shewing the equipment being used by Kingsbury for testing the oil flow through the bearings. The times established are as follows:- Old type 3 1/2 litre with white metal, Time to pass 1 gallon of C.W. oil ( average temp: of engine case 40°C. ) Engine bearing in good condition... 18 to 20 minutes. Doubtful condition... 10 to 12 " Definately bad.... 7 to 8 " With Hall's Metal. Engine in good condition..... 9 to 10 minutes. Doubtful condition...... 5 to 6 " All thump cases...... 2 to 4 " Average over 10 cases of thump.... 3 mins. 16 sec. BY/Mtn. | ||
