RE. "STORK" AND "HERON" CHASSIS. X4561

We shall be able, before you go away, to bring to W.W. in a case, a complete front axle fitted with the front wheel brakes which we were preparing for the "Stork".

We recommend, that after the axle has been examined by you, that we should carry on with the Stork chassis sufficiently, in order to fit this front axle to it and test it on the bump.

We could also test the brakes to a certain extent by revolving the drums without the cams and absorbing a certain amount of H.P. with the brakes.

We think it is very desirable to start the bumping test on the front axle early because the additional weight on the front axle may bring out some new points. x

This work, of course, would be forwarding the production of the "Seagull".

We should like also to know what you would like us to do with the pneumatic brake operating mechanism. Practically the whole of the parts are ready for assembly. Considering the time and money put into the designing, detailing, buying material and machining, it might be considered advisable to fit up one set and see how it operates. The mechanism might even be tried on the road on the car without front wheel brakes by using it to operate the rear brakes only.
