E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Bentley - Cross Steering Tubes. These tubes being usually bent when the front axle has been overstressed, we should like to increase the strength for future. We propose that the present tube 1.000" diameter x .064" thick should be replaced by one 1.125" dia. x .056" thick. The increase in strength is approximately 33% with no increase in weight. The ends will require slight modification where they fit into the tube. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
