Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} from EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} X4086 RE. STEERING. X4086 X4219 We should like to hear from you further how the steering is behaving. We have been able to achieve an improvement by increasing the friction to the pivots on 2-Goshawk-ll which was a bad one for road shocks and have replaced the fibre used in the thrust washers with bonded Ferodo Asbestos which have been put together dry. We are rather concerned about the amount of water which is lost under normal running conditions and we would like to hear from you what trouble, if any, has been experienced on 5-Goshawk-ll in this respect. Could you please keep a record of the temperature maintained, the level of water in the radiator when starting, the level when finishing and the amount put in, if any, also what variation there is, if any, in the loss of water by starting up at different water levels and if run at different temperatures.
