29th August 1938.

W.A. Robotham Esq.,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited,
DERBY.

Dear Mr. Robotham,

I have this morning sent my 4 1/4-litre car to your Service folk at Hendon for de-coking and have asked them whether they can do anything to remedy the wheel wobble which has always been rather a weakness with this car. You will remember that when I last had the pleasure of meeting you in town I mentioned this matter to you and you dismissed it by drawing attention to my tyres, I noticed, however, with-in a week of her being re-shod, although pressures had been very carefully balanced, on certain roads the wheel wobble was still there.

Please forgive me for bothering you personally but you have always been so very interested and I think it is rather a pity that the performance of a very delightful piece of machinery should be discounted by this weakness.

There is just one other point, i.e., the battery; after arriving at Torquay I parked the car and did not use her for a week, when operating the starter, however, it just would not bite. This is a little disappointing after my 200 miles trip when the dynamo would be charging and nothing being taken out of the bettery excepting for re-starting after coasting and, of course, horn requirements.

Sincerely yours,

[Signature:] Charles Wmarich
