10-EX CAR. The only items that have at present been altered on this car are :- (1) The body. (2) The suspension. (3) The steering. (4) Brake and Clutch Pedals. (1) BODY. We consider that the modified body and wings are a considerable improvement for wind resistance, the full benefit of the tail will not be obtained until we have fitted the undershield. We believe that we could make a better undershield if we removed the tie rods should our tests shew that the stability of the car at high speeds is not thereby affected. The driving position needs alteration to enable the N.S. wing to be seen. The front wings are remarkably efficient in keeping mud off the body, stones hit the front of the rear wings however. (2) SUSPENSION. For road holding, absence of pitching, stability on corners and general comfort at speeds above 30 m.p.h., we think the present suspension is the best we have yet tried considering the car is fitted with high pressure tyres. The position of the spare wheel undoubtedly contributes to this result. The general specification of the suspension is :- contd :- | ||
