X4462 INDIA TYRE & RUBBER COMPANY (GREAT BRITAIN) LTD. TELEPHONES: PAISLEY 4141/5. INCHINNAN SCOTLAND TELEGRAMS: INDIAOWL, RENFREW. FROM THE FACTORY'S SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE Oct: 20th 1933. Dear Robotham, Many thanks for your letter of the 19th as a matter of fact I had already reported what you told me the other night about Mr W.O Bentley's Criticisms & I hope your letter does not mean that you have recieved further Complaints. I feel sure you will appreciate that there are Certain Conditions of wetness on any road, but more especially on a greasy London road, where no design of tread or make of tyre can be called 100% Non-Skid, leaving aside altogether the question of driving, speed & adjustment of brakes. Our technical Dept at the Factory are continually listing types of every make & design & are giving very special attention to the 'Speed Special' type. They will I know, do everything they can to meet any criticisms you have to offer; as you know I am ready to come to Derby any time I am wanted & please rest assured that everything possible shall be done to deal with any complaints that arise. I look forward to hearing further from you as to exactly what the Criticisms may be? - Please excuse a written letter but I have not had a moment to go to the office today. Yrs Sincerely Rothes.
