X 3805 PN.{Mr Northey}1/WT13.6.28. S/W (Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) Copy to CWD We are arranging to borrow one of the latest six cylinder Bentley Saloons, in order to take a sufficiently long run on it, say 100 miles, to enable one to form the opinion as to certain important features, especially steering control and chassis springing. I am hoping to find somewhere in England a road on which one can achieve say, between 70 and 80 miles an hour, having an indifferent surface. If you know of such a place, I shall be glad to have particulars as to its geographical position. Meanwhile, it would be useful I think, if either you or Mr. Rowbotham were to accompany me on the test of this car, in order that we can compare notes and come to agreement on certain very important points. Apparently the car can be available any day next week, not including Saturday, so that in the event of your wishing to be present please let me know by return, which day will suit you, in order that I can make immediate arrangements with the owner of the Bentley.
