To BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4266 E1/G19.9.21. X.4266 - RE GOSHAWK 11. PETROL TANK. In reply to your memo BY14/P15.9.21, we are shortening the petrol tank here about .375" at each end and sloping the brackets carrying the petrol tank to suit. We are also dealing with the filler with a view to getting more clearance between it and the road spring. The shortening of the tank naturally helps us with this latter point. With regard to the brake levers, from our LeC. drawings we think there should be ample clearance, as when dealing with this point we altered the angle of the brake lever on the axle to give more clearance as you have probably found on comparing the brake drawings with the drawings of the petrol tank. The scheme dealing with the tank will be sent very shortly. E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
