On the way the 9th inst we ran 420 miles & the 10th 240 miles,
[interjection above the next line: on the 9th - 256 miles & today the 10th 358 miles]
making a total to date of 3351 miles. I have been able to get the battery recharged during the night, but the loss of time through the battery has caused us to fall off in mileage, but have done as much as possible under the circumstances. I have wired today for driving shaft for dynamo as this was taken back with 59TE to Derby.
Mr. Elliott has greased & oiled up chassis all round. X steering rod ball joints adjusted also shock absorbers. Fan belt adjusted & engine side strips fixed up, as the bolt heads pull through the aluminium. On going the top half of wind screen (glass) collapsed through road vibration at the time we were running about 50 miles pr hr. & screen slightly opened. Not one personal damage done. For the past few days the weather has been hot & the water temperature
