Bentley Brake Judders.

Thanks for Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/MJ.7.12.34. I am very glad indeed to note that you found some definite cause for the very alarming experience which I had on Lp{Mr Lappin}'s car.

I have noted with great interest what you say in regard to brake judders generally and I should like to discuss the matter further and if possible, when I am at Derby, see the modified front axle torque arm to which you refer in paragraph 4 as running about on a car at present.

We have definitely got to have a cure for these brake judders. It is quite bad enough for people to have to dry their brakes off after washing but there is no reason why they should have to suffer the judder as well.

I am not quite sure whether 5-B-IV referred to in the last paragraph with improved torque arm on the front axle is the same as the one referred to in the fourth paragraph but we can clear this up when I see you, because the 4th paragraph says: 'So far as our tests have gone, this entirely eliminates the brake judders' and in the last paragraph relative to 5-B-IV it says: 'We hope in a few days to be able to test this out and see whether this modification can reduce the complaint of brake judders.'
