BENTLEY REAR AXLE - NIP WASHER &
Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}2/AP.25.5.37.
-------------------------

We have now produced the nip washer GB.613/18 in S/ZN. and have 120 available in the Works. The facing cutter is now being produced, but will not be available for 2 to 3 weeks. Meanwhile, we are grinding the washers to suit as previously, until the cutter is ready.

In our discussion this morning, we questioned the suggested advisability of changing all 4 1/4 litre chassis over to the new type washer irrespective of whether or not the car requires it.

On this question we share your view of the difficulty of correct re-fitting, as every thing must be scrupulously clean and the job very carefully done.

We favour our man going down to Kingsbury, or suggest that a man come up here for very thorough instruction.

We find our washers range about .117 - .120 and we could prepare batches in .001 increment for despatch to Kingsbury if you will let us know what is required in respect of quantities.

Will you also advise us if Kingsbury require a cutter for future repairs.
