With reference to H.6/H19.11.31. there is no reason for the statement that B.P. plus causes a deposit liable to make the air valve stick to any greater degree than when using standard fuel.

B.P.Plus contains only a very small percentage of lead, certainly not sufficient to have any detrimental effect on the air valve. There is a possibility that the blue dye used in this petrol has the effect of making the deposit on the air valve a darker colour than normally and thus causing it to be more prominent.

If we use Ethyl spirit a red stain is apparent on the air valve due to the red dye, and in the same way we should expect B.P. Plus to leave a blue stain.
