ROAD TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES

THE ROAD VEHICLES LIGHTING REGULATIONS, 1936, DATED APRIL 30, 1936, MADE BY THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORT.

The Minister of Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Road Transport Lighting Act, 1927 (herein-after referred to as "the Act"), the Road Traffic Acts, 1930 to 1934, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations, that is to say :—

Part I.—General.

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as “ The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations, 1936,” and save as hereinafter provided shall come into force forthwith.
(2) The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations, 1929, (a) the Road Vehicles Lighting (Amendment) Provisional Regulations, 1933, and the Pedal Cycles (White Surface) Provisional Regulations, 1934, are hereby revoked.

2. Nothing in these Regulations shall—
(a) affect the operation prior to the date hereof of the Regulations hereby revoked or anything done or suffered under those Regulations, or
(b) affect any right, privilege, obligation, or liability acquired, accrued or incurred under those Regulations, or
(c) affect any fine or punishment incurred in respect of a breach of those Regulations, or
(d) affect any legal proceedings or remedy in respect of any such right, privilege, obligation, liability, fine or punishment,
and any such legal proceeding or remedy may be instituted, continued or enforced and any such fine or punishment may be imposed as if these Regulations had not been made.

3. For the purpose of these Regulations the expression “ Public Service Vehicle ” means a Public Service Vehicle as defined in the Road Traffic Act, 1930.

4. These Regulations shall not apply to any motor vehicle brought temporarily into Great Britain by a person resident abroad and intending to make only a temporary stay in Great Britain while
