R.R. 235A (100 T) (S.B. 798. 10-12-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2947 ORIGINAL. To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. to CJ. c. to PH. c. to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} (CamachaHenry Royce's office in West Wittering) c. to Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} EFC./TB.9.21. X.3398 - PETO & RADFORD BATTERIES. We duly received your note H1/030.8.21, and have written to the P & R Company accordingly, telling them of our experiences of the two most recently received P & R batteries, and asking them to recommend us their latest type. Although we assume that you intended this for the large car, it now occurs to us that you might like us to obtain a smaller capacity battery suitable for the Goshawk. The present state of affairs with regard to the battery for Goshawk is that we have received one sample C.A.V-Willard 12XR2, and a battery box is being made to suit this battery. We should now either obtain a further C.A.V-Willard 12XR2 battery, as it is desirable to have two for one experimental car, or else obtain a battery of some other make (perhaps P & R Co. might have one of suitable dimensions) to be interchangeable with this.
