To B.J. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to EY. c. to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 4457 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG30.12.24. WHEEL WOBBLE. Referring to BJE/H29.12.24. We have seen the full reports of the papers read in America on Wheel Wobble. The account given in 'The Motor' is an extract from the papers. Briefly, the result of the American investigations show that no satisfactory solution has been found. Our own investigations on low speed steering wobbles are more complete than those carried out in U.S.A. The high speed steering wobble we have not investigated to any extent because it is only recently that it has become manifest on our cars. We do not see any way in which we can apply the results of the American investigations to enable us to fit balloon tyres on the front wheels. The results only go to confirm our views that they are dangerous. From the above it will be understood that it will take some time to complete experimental tests on the 33 X 6.75" tyres which we have just received. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
