Per Dowdly H.S. COMPLETED 16.6.24 RR 288A (10M) (SL 72 16-7-23) MP 274954 ALTERATIONS TO R.R. AERO ENGINE PARTS. Description of Parts: It is proposed to increase the thickness of the camshaft casings by 50% on Eagle IX Engines. Origin: The above proposal has been made in view of the number of breakages that have occurred on engines used on Civil Aviation Services. Experimental Test Report: No experimental tests have been made, but it is considered essential that something be done quickly to alleviate the trouble. Increasing the thickness of the metal appears to be the only possibility at the moment.
