The unsuitability of Lycett fan belts due to noise and slippage, recommending British Goodrich belts instead.

In reply to ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/MS3/P17.7.30. the sample belts submitted were in the first place found to be very noisy in operation, this alone makes them unsuitable. We also found that we got a good deal of slip in the drive at high speeds. We are getting very much more satisfactory results from the British Goodrich endless belts.
