RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. c. EY/RD. x7655 EFC5/T3.4.29. S.S. STARTER MOTOR. We understand that one S.S. car is to be remodelled entirely on proposed production lines. Naturally we are very anxious to have at the earliest possible moment a complete set of starter equipment to most up-to-date instructions, including bakelite production mouldings where possible. In regard to the motor, the most recent instructions are HY{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}/RD7/ML13.3.29, though you may receive during the next day or two instructions concerning slight modifications to the main large diameter bearing and to the teeth, with a view to the absolute prevention of of mechanical jamming. In regard to the main and auxiliary switch, it is hoped that one of these can be made up with the production bakelite mouldings. We very urgently require, however, the switch which is at present under alteration so that we may bench test this and give, if possible, our approval to this latest arrangement as a suitable arrangement for the switch for the production model mentioned above. There is also the push button switch, one of which, apparently for the purpose mentioned, should be made up in accordance with the instructions contained in HY{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}/RD2/ML27.3.29.
