Mr.Hutton B.47.HM.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} 4 1/4 LITRE CONN. ROD FAILURE, 10,340 MILES.

There have been two 4 1/4 litre Bentleys in this week for conn. rod failure. Should not there be a Depot Sheet issued for the latest modifications to be carried out on these failures when erected.?

This car has been in twice for rod failure. The first time was after 796 miles. The rods were sent up for Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s investigation and the complete engine was sent later. Total mileage of the car is 11,136 which leaves 10,340 for the new engine. A report upon the condition will be sent after dismant-ling.
