TO E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 'R' ? REPORTS ?? ORIGINAL re. PROGRESS. Kagula V3528 Many thanks for your kind letter. I was wondering what had become of RR. at WW. I have received some word from Mr.Rowledge about the work he has in hand and have sent you my views. I have had one or two memos. from Mr.Hives about the broken steering and front springs, but nothing of what is proposed shall be done from WW. I have not received any word of how HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and all of you are getting along with brakes, which naturally is my greatest source of anxiety. Will you kindly send me reports every week of work done and progress made. This will ask HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to do likewise. It will be better to let me know good or bad that I may help you with suggestions. I have also received no blue prints of say gearbox work, and what CJ. has decided about Goshawk side lever box. Is it to be 3 speed or 4 speed? You will see there is much I should be hearing and something should arrive every few days of what is happening. Still very wet here also, R.{Sir Henry Royce} but today beautiful. Handwritten note in margin: Dear E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} He's had a long talk with R - passed on everything from your letter & left R's with him. He was informed by Riman of this, & he is going to write to R to inform him that H.S. was thoroughly in touch with all this from the main point of view. Proper place for this (action) from this place. | ||
