A.{Mr Adams} Taub, Esq.,
Vauxhall Motors Ltd.,
LUTON, Beds.

Dear Taub,

We want to interest you in our Aluminium Tin Bearing Alloy..

After two years' work on this material, we say it is cheaper, lighter and better than babbitt. It is not necessary to run it on a hardened shaft. We believe that although you are not in bearing trouble you should test this alloy so that you may have it in the background in case you need it.

We have one of your 25 horse-power engines stripped down at present, and do not see why it should not be very suited to the bearings in question.

If you can spare half a day we will give you the history of our development work on the subject.

Our present figure of merit is that the best white metal we have been able to get lasts about 25 hours on one of our over-load tests; the tin aluminium alloy is in a sound condition at the end of 250 hours of the same treatment.

The big advantage of this bearing material over lead bronze is that it runs at white metal clearances.

Yours sincerely,
