To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}21/KW.10.7.36. Mr. Withers' Bentley - B-172-EF. With reference to the obsolete S.U. petrol pump taken from Mr. Withers' car, this is not the original pump supplied with the chassis. We have traced the car via the Repair records to a petrol pump change at Lillie Hall - see attached memo. copy. The obsolete pump is apparently from stock. The latest pump is stamped on the base G.M.1. G.M. only indicates the new type diaphragm, the 1 was added when the modified unions were brought in. Depots should make sure that modified pumps are fitted when an exchange is made. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.Dodd. | ||
