With reference to the new Car, we should like to know whether you have in mind any particular date on which you would like this car. We think the earliest time which it will be completely finished and painted will be 3 to 4 weeks. If we wait for the new shock absorbers before having the car painted, it will be longer than this. On this new chassis we suggest that we should fit some very large ventilators in the side of the scuttle dash. We consider they should be about 12" x 6" in order to keep the floorboard comfortable in very hot weather. Ventilators in the scuttle are certainly the most effective means of curing the complaints of the hot floorboards. Most of the heat on the floorboards is caused by the depression under the scuttle when the car is running along the road; this draws the hot air from under the bonnet through all the cracks in the floorboards. To reduce that depression to any extent, we need very large ventilators. EH. | ||
