SETTING OF SLIPPER FLYWHEELS.

Referring to the setting of the flywheels which Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /GSH. used on the engine of 7-LF car. This setting is not altogether experimental, it closely follows the standard which has been used by Springfield for a considerable time. They have been using the cotton duck friction surface and the friction adjusted to 170 in.lbs. The actual adjustment on 7-LF as it was left was 153 in.lbs. The present standard adjustment for Phantoms is 350 in.lbs. approximately.
