To EH. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} -2- R5/G16/6/19 Contd. I should be pleased if you would tell me when this floatchamber was last taken down for cleaning, as the amount of the deposit in it would appear to have been the accumulation of more than one summer. Occasionally it made the float and needle valve work irregularly through increased friction, but it chiefly manifested itself in blocking up the low speed jet, which would act as a filter to these fine grit particles, which reminded one of the very finest sand. I should be pleased to know also how frequently this fault happens, to see whether it is necessary to make any modification - (1) in the accessibility for cleaning. (2) improving the paragraph referring to it in the instruction book. (3) or introducing a further filter somewhere in the system. R.{Sir Henry Royce} GHP | ||
