1779 S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (Copy to Ds/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}) Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/M/5.1.28. Re: Sports Chassis. Thanks for Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG2.1.28. Pleased to hear you expect to have complete Sports chassis ready for body sometime next week. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} is at present in London and has been visiting the Coachbuilders & who are on the job, and I understand that Hooper's who have the dummy (and whose body we propose using for the first chassis) are well advanced, the body panelled, and so far as we can see, should be ready by the time you are really wanting it. I assume there will be a good deal of preliminary work to do to your chassis both in the Shops and on the road which can be proceeded with without having an actual Sports body on it. With regard to step-irons and mudguard stays, pleased to hear you are pushing on with these as quickly as possible, as until we are actually in possession of them, I am afraid Hooper's cannot finish. A matter which is very urgent, is the delivery of the second dummy chassis which you will recollect we agreed should be made up some time ago, and we understood would take only a few days. Barker's are in urgent need of this for their body which is the one we have in mind for the P/W. job. How soon can we have it please? Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
