To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Bentley V.{VIENNA} We want to have the latest type of lightened front road springs No. 122A fitted to the above car. These are similar to type 122 only the 2 bottom leaves have a more gradual chamfer on the tips. Unfortunately we only have the bumper springs type 122 modified with 2 new leaves to type 122A. As the top leaves of these springs have done considerable running on the bumper, it will be necessary to exchange the bottom leaves with the springs type 122 which have been temporarily fitted to Bentley V.{VIENNA} This will give a pair of unused front springs for this car. There is a difference in the position of the spring clips on types 122 and 122A, so that new gaiters will be required. Will you please also make the following alteration to the spring packings :- Front springs poundage plate F.100447 Spring Packing FB.2086 to replace F.100355. Rear spring plate FB.2087/8 to replace spring plate FB.1401/2. These alterations are necessary to prevent any sharp edge contact with the springs. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A.
