CC Mr. Belnap Mr. Nadin Mr. Caswell Oy2 - G 11721 July 11, 1921 Mr. Claude Johnson, Managing Director, Rolls-Royce Ltd., London, England. Attention: Messrs. Hives & F.H. Royce. Dear Sir:- Re. Induction Systems [Redacted "COPY" stamp over text] In continuation of my letter of July 9, Oy2-G9721, I wish to advise that the question of wall gas and re-condensation has been met in the Oakland car, which has a hot spot, by what they call a "re-atomiser" - namely, a venturi inserted in the inlet pipe thus:- [Diagram of a venturi with labels] JET TUBES ANNULUS TO COLLECT WALL GAS Perhaps the effect of such a device would be worth trying at Derby. It is said to give good results on the Oakland. MO/G Yours truly, ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA, Inc. Per___________ | ||
