Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 14th April, 1939. B.S. Cunningham, Esq., Greens Farms, Connecticut, U.S.A. Dear Briggs Cunningham, Many thanks for your letter of March 27th. Unfortunately, we did not get a calibrated performance of the new Bentley before the customer asked to have it back. It was, of course, a car built privately to his order and belonged to him and not to our Company. You can gather what the performance was by the fact that the weight was 31cwts. and the engine output at accelerating speeds was 15% up on standard. We shall be very interested to try your special Buick if you bring it over this Summer. I hope to be able to show you something that will interest you in the way of comfort as well as speed. Yours sincerely, | ||
