ORIGINAL TO E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. & ST.{Capt. P. R. Strong} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} SECRET. R1/M23.2.24. Copy to - [crossed out text] X.30142 re. EAC.4. GEARBOX CASING. X.4383 re. EAC.3. DYNAMO CHANGES. I cannot suggest any improvement in the above. When you say the RR. dynamo has not enough output, this will be output with temperature considered. If our machine runs cooler and yet cuts in early enough, the output might be adjusted; also would it be any advantage to make it 1" long-er in the core, and overall, and so get say 33 1/3% more output. You will see by my telegram there is the question of overheating dynamo and magneto. This latter should not be worse than before, but better, but I do not know about the dynamo, and can only say test at once, and compare. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
