Dear Tan.,
We are far more struck by the appearance of your name in the list of Directors than by the colour of the note-paper. Martindale is away for a fortnight flying for the King, but when he comes back we will send you several drums and liners in the hopes that after your treatment they will stay together.
W.O. took me out in a 12-cylinder Lagonda the other day. It was a far better car than I expected, but very reminiscent of a lorry on low speed turns.
Are you coming up to the Nuffield Trophy ?
Yours sincerely,
