Peregrine Cylinder Liners.

In accordance with your request we ordered from The British Piston Ring Co, Limited, twelve centrifugally cast cylinder liners to drawing E.100294.

These liners are made from the same material as those supplied to the L.G.O.C. which the latter report upon so highly.

As previously pointed out to you, these liners require heat treating to give a brinell hardness of 400 to 500.

As of course the liners are not machinable at this hardness all rough machining must be done before heat treatment leaving only grinding allowances.

It is desirable however to leave rather more generous allowances that the usual as the liners may distort somewhat in the heat treatment.

The above liners have now been received and we have instructed the Stores to hand them over to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}
