RE BLANKING OFF PIECE FOR 40/50 CHASSIS RADIATORS, X.3456

We find that 49-GB Car maintains an average temperature of 75°C with a circle of the radiator exposed 17.5" diameter.
The atmospheric temperature was 28°C.

We recommend that the blanking off piece should be made of thin gauge aluminium rather than 3-ply wood. We find, when we use 3-ply wood that it distorts badly. This we think is due to the soaking with water it gets when the car is washed and the baking afterwards.

For cars which are to be used in England, the blank-ing off piece which allows 17.5" diameter of the radiator exposed, can be fitted on permanently but we should still have to provide some means of reducing that amount in the Winter time.

Do you recommend that we should have another plate with a different diameter of hole cut into it ?
