Stainless Iron for Exhaust Systems.

I would like to thank you for your memo. CGH{W Clough}/EM.23/J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 25.4.39. and the information contained therein.

We know of the difficulty of welding stainless iron, but we have been able to do this in the Exptl. Dept. by using stainless steel welding wire.

We are getting in touch with Firth's and J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} & F.{Mr Friese} Pool Ltd. and will let you know the results of our enquiries and subsequent tests.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}
