You will recollect Negretti & Zambra submitted a mercury filled Thermometer which proved very satisfactory, but the cost put it out of court. They have now submitted an Ether filled instrument which they are particularly anxious we should test out, at a figure approximating that we are paying to-day for the Cambridge instrument.
