Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Sft.{Mr Swift} BALDWIN'S STAMPED ARMATURE PLATES. We recommend that we buy no further supplies of Messrs. Baldwin's stamped plates until such time as they have improved the electrical quality of their material. The electrical curves they have submitted we feel bound to say, do not seem truthful as compared with the curves submitted by Messrs. Sankeys, whose products give very consistent results, and we are obtaining considerably inferior results from both dynamos and starter with the use of the Baldwins material than we are with Messrs. Sankeys. We recommend therefore that we continue to purchase all our supplies of stampings from Messrs. Sankeys. We will arrange to carry out further tests with Baldwins material if they can produce material of a higher standard but at the moment their efforts are very poor indeed.
