X.6006 Ey. from EFC. EFC5/AD24.3.30. X 6006. X.8667. HIGH OUTPUT 48-COIL PHANTOM II DYNAMO. Further to our EFC6/AD5.2.30, we are now able to give the necessary particulars for the experimental high output modification of the 48 coil medium output machine. These are as follows :- The C angle between the control brush and positive brush should be 133°. Altered to 132° Brushes should be of standard Morganite grade but with the bevel increased to 30° in place of 15°. The brush spring should be of a new type, pattern attached, this being a modified (by us) form of the special springs which Mr. Davis arranged for use with the experimental 45° brush level. This spring has a more clearly defined point of contact with the brush, and rises vertically from the brush to give more clearance before sloping down to the spiral. The control brush angle will be finally checked on the two high output machines which Mr. Davis will now be able to instruct, any final necessary correction being made by ourselves. EFC. | ||
