The British Belting & Asbestos Ltd.
59, Southwark St.{Capt. P. R. Strong}
London, S.E.1.

For the attention of Mr. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Dalmaine.

Dear Sirs,

You are supplying us with woven cotton discs for our torque reaction dampers to Piece No. E.82463. We are concerned to find that these cotton washers appear to be impregnated with a gummy constituent which oozes out of the fabric and causes its coefficient of friction to vary enormously.

We should be obliged if you or your representative could come over as soon as convenient to look at some of the parts in question when I am sure you will appreciate the difficulties. We should like to emphasise that these pieces play a very important part in the functioning of the car and therefore we are most concerned about the difficulty we have encountered.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
