Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}14/JH. 7th. December, 1938.

Messrs. Delco-Remy & Hyatt Ltd.,
111, Grosvenor Road,
LONDON. S.W.1.

For the attention of Mr. B. Rushton.

Dear Sirs,

We are returning under separate cover 30 shaft assemblies, which in the course of checking for Brinell hardness, have been rejected as being too soft. 13 of these are out of the batch of 30 sent to us for checking on the 16th. October, 1938. The remaining 17 which were within the limits have now been used up for replacement purposes.

We shall require a further dozen shaft assemblies to clear out existing stock.

We have now returned all the cams which were delivered to us for Brinell tests, of these, 84 were over 400 Brinell and the remaining 123 were hardened at these Works. We would like 12 more shaft assemblies as soon as possible, a few at a time will suffice, in order not to interfere too much with your supplies of production distributors.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
