MOTOR RADIATOR AND SHEET METAL DEPARTMENT. 22nd March, 1933. Handwritten: LID{A. J. Lidsey} Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, We are duly in receipt of your letter of the 18th inst., reference Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid{A. J. Lidsey}/1/KT, covering two sets of 40/50 HP. Car Radiator Parts to which Harrison Vee Blocks are to be fitted. The writer has had our instructions received in November carefully referred to, and finds that it will not be possible to do as now requested in your letter under reply. One of the radiator cores was ordered from our American friends to suit your Radiator type E.81407 and the other was ordered to suit your Radiator type E.77675. In both cases by arrangement with you extra tankage was provided for on the bottom tank, as it was agreed to be unwise to call upon our American friends to construct the block with angles which they always bar in such constructions. The area of block therefore fitted to your Radiator E.81407 will be approximately 24 square inches less than the area of the Mark III matrix fitted to a similar radiator. Under these circumstances our remarks with regard to water circulation in the bottom tank will not apply to those radiators fitted with Harrison Vee Bonded cores. We are, however, interested to see that you Contd. | ||
